Call, Not Caw, For Goodness Sake

Hello there! I wanted to drop in and say hi, even though I've decided to take the week off from these weekly musings. Sometimes, you just need to rest more than you'd planned.
On my rest weeks, if you haven't already noticed, I try to feature one of my comics from the olden days. Here's one from June of 2021, the first year of my venture into blogging and silly comics. I always like to see how much my drawing has changed when I look at these early images.
I chose to share this one because tonight I will do the yearly fantasy football draft with my family league, which was set up by my brother years ago. When you draft your FF team for the year (which you always tweak through the season), you basically end up with a hand of football player cards you'll then play through the year. Sure, you'll get new cards, but it's a crapshoot as to how the game will go.
In addition to the metaphor of poker for fantasy football, my brother, who is the commissioner of our league, happens to be nationally ranked in poker. So, you know, the metaphor is apt.
Wish me luck. My team is called the Bench Bozos. The clown is my spirit animal. I learned what rushing was last year. I know nothing about football. And still, my team has been at the top most years. I'm a numbers girl. That's how you do it, folks! :-)
Have a lovely rest of your week, friends. See you next Wednesday with a new musing and accompanying silly image.
